Is 2 days enough for Savannah?

We recently stayed overnight in Downtown Savannah, GA and had the most wonderful time! Full of pastel colors, and cobbled streets Savannah is a dream of a place to stay. Even though we were only there for one night, we found some hidden gems that we wanted to share with you.

Where To Park In Savannah

I know the first question you are going to want to know the answer to is.
Where do you park your rig to stay overnight?” At least that’s the question I’d be asking.

The great thing about Savannah is that it’s pretty friendly for overnight parking and there are different options you can do. We parked our rig at Daffin Park and it was perfect for us! It wasn’t on a main street, wide roads, quiet at night…and BEAUTIFUL 😍!

Where we parked for the night - Daffin Park

We parked up on the far side of the swimming pool area. The park was well lit and we had zero problems parking here. There are no signs about prohibiting overnight parking and there where also several others vehicles/rigs parking over night as well as a fellow van-lifer. The morning we woke up here there were lots of government maintenance vehicles parked up doing yard maintenance and no one said anything about us parked up here, all were friendly!

Where To Eat In Savannah

We had some delicious 🤤 food while we where there and even got some to-go for the road! Here are the places we ate at and what we LOVED!

The Little Crown by Pie Society 👑

This place was INCREDIBLE! Not only is it Georgia’s Smallest Pub (maybe even the US’), but it is also a British Pie House. Being from England myself, I could not be more excited about a place that served pork pies, pasties, sausage rolls and not to mention egg custards and Bakewell tarts 😍.

I got two sausage rolls for the road (buy one, get one free), as well as a chicken curry pastie, and they were all scrumptious! The vibe of the place was so cool, we got drinks, and hung out and talk to the workers there and just had the best time!

Fire Street Food 🔥

This place was fire…get it…fire?! But in all seriousness, this food was fantastic. They serve Asian Thai food along with sushi and burgers (random addition). I got the Pad Thai with a Thai tea, I’m a sucker for Thai tea 🤤. We got this food to-go and brought it back to the bus with us and it was perfect for a night in!

Spudnik 🥔

Have you ever been to a restaurant that serves twice baked potatoes? Nope? And you won’t, unless you go to Spudnik, as it’s the ONLY twice-baked potato restaurant in the WORLD!!!
This place was super cool, just like their website…go ahead, check it out! I mean who has a muppet explain what their food is all about!? Ash got the The Sunrise spud, which is fried egg, sour cream, green onions, it was delicious! It is also so affordable, everything on their menu is under $10…so you can’t beat that!

Goose Feathers Cafe & Bakery 🐦

This place is the PERFECT breakfast spot and it serves it all day! Along with soups, sandwiches , salads, pastries, and desserts! This European style cafe and bakery was so cute and quaint! The staff were friendly and fun and the food was next level! I did the Eggs Benedict Savannah Style on a homemade croissant and Ash got an Eggel Bagel which was scrambled eggs with cheddar on a gluten-free bagel and she loved it! Definitely recommend this spot for breakfast or brunch!

Bitty & Beau’s Coffee ☕️

This is more than a coffee shop, it’s human rights movement disguised as a coffee shop and they do amazing coffee! We fell in love with Bitty & Beau’s and what they are all about! They advocate for the value, acceptance, and inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We had the best time here. It was quiet when we went and we got to hang out and talk with the staff for awhile and we loved getting to know them, one of the barista was really interested in van/bus life, so that was fun to chat about! The drinks were great, I got a Chai Latte with oat milk and Ash got a Vanilla Latte!

The staff at Bitty and Beau’s..also repping their “Not Broken” merch

Savannah was such an amazing stop and we cannot wait to go back. It’s a fairytale of a city in our opinion with so much beauty, things to do, and places to eat. We loved just getting to ride our bikes through the city and explore all along the way. If ever you get a chance to visit, do it!

We only had one night here, so if you have any other recommendations for us to check out next time…leave them in the comments below!
